Another successful Fall Festival is under our belt! The fun games, sugary treats, and spook-tacular times would not have been possible without the help of all of our amazing Plympton family volunteers. What an amazing community we are all apart of. Special thanks goes out to the chair of the event, Mary Beth Walsh!
Hope everyone has a safe and happily haunted Halloween! Monday, October 31 is Vocabulary Day. Each student will write a word on a paper headband (distributed at school last week) and decorate it to help us learn what their word means. Kindergarten classes and some other classes did this in school. Some students took them home to decorate. Students are allowed to wear costumes to help us understand their word. However, faces cannot be covered (no masks or serious facepaint), no props (plastic swords, stuffed animals, etc), and costumes should not prohibit students from participating in normal school activities. See thePlympton School Library website for more information. Does your lunch menu get lost in a huge pile papers? The Election Day Bake Sale is a long standing Plympton School PTO tradition. Proceeds from the bake sale go towards the PTO's annual scholarship fund which provides a $1500 scholarship to a Waltham High School senior who attended Plympton School. This is possible because of the generosity of our families. Even if you took advantage of early voting, please stop by for breakfast, lunch or to grab a treat or buy a raffle ticket! Sign up here http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0c45a4ad2ba0fd0-election3 to either donate a baked good or help staff the annual Election Day Bake Sale on Tuesday, November 8th from 7am to 7pm. All baked goods can be homemade or store bought. We are also in need of other food/beverage items for donation. The following is just a suggestion of items needed. Have a specialty? We'd love to share it with our community! Items can be dropped off at the school on Monday afternoon/evening orTuesday during the bake sale. If possible, it really is helpful to individually wrap your items and please be sure to indicate if they contain nuts. This is a NO SCHOOL day for the kids but this is a day long event (7am-7pm) and we need all the help we can get to help sell baked goods and raffles-even if just for an hour. We sell breakfast and lunch items. This labor-intensive event is run by Jen Renaud and she could use a few people to help secure donations before that day-please email Jen to get involved: jlrenaud40@gmail.com Click here for the Bake Sale Fliers in English and Spanish Election Day Bake Sale Raffles (1).docx Plympton School PTO Election Day Bake Sale2016.docx PTO Election Day Bake Sale Spanish 2016.docx Thank you for your support! BOKS BOKS Week 5 This week our BOKStars learned all about PUSHUPS!! Pushups are great to help build your upper body strength. They strengthen your chest, arms, shoulders and your core. We also gave the kids a push-up challenge. We asked them to get at least one family member to do 5 push-ups with them every morning? Are you up for it?? It might seem trivial to some and maybe it seems daunting to others but even taking just a minute each morning To do some sort of physical activity with your kids is a great way to jump start your day - try it and see!! BOKS BITS - this week we talked all about drinks and specifically focused on WATER. Did you know WATER is the most important thing you can put into your body to stay healthy and fit. When are the best times to drink? Before, during and after exercise and whenever you feel thirsty. What do you think about gatorade or vitamin water? Is that better? NO!!!! They have lots of added sugar. BOKS ROCKS!! SEE'S CANDY FUNDRAISER See’s Candies Fundraiser We are excited to begin our first ever See’s Candies fundraiser! Proceeds go directly to the Plympton Elementary School. Since all the students will benefit from this fundraiser, we greatly appreciate everyone’s participation. You can help us reach our goal by taking orders from friends, relatives, neighbors and co-workers. Famous for American-made deliciousness with no added preservatives, See’s is easy to sell because people love candy. Look for your flyer coming home with your child this week. ONE HOPE WINE TASTING Mark your calendars for SATURDAY, November 12th, because we're having a ONEHOPE Wine Tasting! Come mingle, catch up with old friends (or meet some new ones), relax, sip and shop some delicious wines. The tasting will feature ONEHOPE wines, made in collaboration with winemaker Robert Mondavi Jr., in the Napa Valley. Jes Landau will be there to walk us through a tasting of several varietals and share the amazing impact that ONEHOPE is making. ONEHOPE donates 50% of all profits to a variety of charities including the ASPCA, ACT TODAY, and the Hope Heart Institute. What's even better? 15% of the "Case for a Cause" sales will be donated to the Plympton PTO. Can't make it?
