What is the PTO?
The Parent Teacher Organization at Plympton is very involved with the administration, teachers, parents and students at our school. It is run by a volunteer board of Plympton parents. Our current board members names are listed below. The board has a two year term and this board’s term ends at the end of this year.
It is the PTO’s goal to enhance our children’s education and strengthen our school community through a variety of efforts. As a parent with a child at Plympton, you are by definition, part of the PTO (Parent Teacher Organization). We ask that you support the group in any way you can. Whether you participate by attending free events, buying tickets for raffles, or volunteering your time, we appreciate everything and anything you do. If you have ideas, feedback on fundraisers, or you have a special interests or skills you would like to let us know about (examples: you’re a DJ on the side, you like getting stuff for free so you want to help us get items for our raffles, you are a grant writer and would like to help us get grants for our initiatives, etc.), stop us in the hall, e-mail us, or come to meetings, whatever works for you.
The PTO communicates with its members by email with our weekly newsletter, by notices sent home with children, and via Facebook (like us at Plympton School). Since those notices can occasionally get overlooked we want to outline for you what we have planned for the year and hopefully you’ll keep an eye out for those things that interest you the most. Remember, more detailed information will be coming as the school year progresses.
